Head of School Lori Strauss shares several key updates and announcements as we head into the last couple of months of the school year.
Dear Families,
Welcome back from what I hope was a restorative spring break. It is hard to believe that we only have nine weeks left of school. The weeks ahead are packed with opportunities for our community to gather and celebrate together.
As the college acceptances roll in for the Class of 2023, I am not surprised at the results. They are ambitious and compassionate young adults who seek answers to some of the world’s most complex problems. The list of schools our seniors are being admitted to is deep and diverse. We have students admitted to Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Howard, University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown, Stanford, University of Michigan, University of Virginia, Morehouse, Hamilton, Dartmouth, Georgia Tech, Bates, Spelman, Boston College, Tulane, and many others. National Decision Day is May 1, when all of our seniors will have made their final choices. Congratulations, Class of 2023. I can't wait to see where you go from here.
Please join us for the State of the School address on April 20, at 6:30pm on Zoom, as our Board Chair Will Pecau and I share our planned revitalization for campus science facilities. Members of our science faculty, Maddie Cloud, Rachel Kloecker, Page Stites, and Monte Woodard, will share their excitement for the future of science at Field.
I hope you have marked your calendar for April 29 for Dare to Be Field, where we will celebrate five decades of Field while coming together to support our students through financial aid. You can purchase tickets here.
Also on the horizon: Studio Day on May 20, Prom on May 13, Graduation on June 4, and the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony on June 7. These last weeks of the school year will go by faster than any of us can imagine. I will relish this time and look forward to the path ahead for all our students.
Warmly,
Lori Strauss
