Head of School Lori Strauss shares her gratitude for faculty, students, and parents as the 2023-24 school year comes to a close.
Dear Families,
As we all head off into summer I want to say thank you.
Thank you to our faculty for caring deeply about student learning, staying up late into the evening assessing student work, and preparing for the next day’s lesson. Thank you for always being willing to step in as a club advisor, serve as a senior capstone internship mentor, or chaperone a travel program. I am grateful for all the mornings you come in early and the afternoons you stay late to meet with students.
Thank you to our students for being willing to try new things, whether it was a new sport, a different studio, or an approach to an academic assignment. A willingness to learn is essential to school, and the journey we take together changes us. I am grateful for the moments when you were silly, vulnerable, inquisitive, challenging, and compassionate.
Thank you to our parent volunteers who have supported community events like Homecoming and Studio Day. Class parents, The Field Fund ambassadors, potluck hosts, happy hour organizers, and FPA committee members—thank you. I am grateful for the numerous ways you ensure the Field family experience.
On Sunday, our seniors became our graduates. From my perch on the stage, I always have a beautiful view. I see the tears of joy falling from parents' eyes, the wide smiles of grandparents, and the fist pumps from siblings. As the ceremony ended one graduate said, “Thank you” as he bowed his head. Indeed, Thank You.
See you in September.
Warmly,
Lori
