Isley started at Field in 10th grade and since then she has been very involved in our Studio Program – starring in many Field productions, including theater, radio, and film. Isley says when she joined our community, everyone welcomed her with open arms. Keep reading to learn more about a sweet moment from her first day at Field.

What major or subject area are you planning to pursue in college?

Television & Film

Why did you choose to attend The Field School?

My old school wasn't the best, and at the time, I decided to leave midway through sophomore year. Field welcomed me with kindness and open arms, the rest is history.

What grade level did you enter at Field?

10th

What has been your favorite class at Field and why?

I really love history, it's such a nice crossover with English but it leans into what happened and how we got here. Looking back on the past is a huge source of inspiration for so much of what I do, which is why I've adored every history class I've taken at Field.

What sports/clubs did you take part in at Field?

  • Theater
  • Thespian Troupe
  • Radio “The Falcon Feed”
  • Film

What is your favorite memory from your time at Field?

My favorite memory is probably my first day. I walked into English class, a completely new student that showed up out of nowhere, and there weren't enough chairs. I sat on the floor and two other people came down and sat next to me, introducing themselves, and I could only think, "This is the nicest thing that's happened in a while."

What will you miss most about Field?

I'm going to miss the community. The teachers and my classmates absolutely saved my life, and I don't think they realize how much they mean to me. I hope before I go they realize that a huge part of my Field experience is them.

What is your advice for future Field seniors?

Just live. Everything will go by so quickly and you'll spend time thinking, "Why did it have to go so fast?" Just accept that that's what happens when you have a good time and enjoy it all.

How did Field prepare you for your next chapter?

It showed me that a class doesn't have to be taught just one way and that a good day is what I make it. I'm in control and have more control than I realize, and I'm really happy Field taught me that before I go off to college.
