Today’s Senior Spotlight is Evan S! Evan came to Field in 10th grade and he is heading to the University of Washington-Seattle in the Fall to study Biochemistry. He was a member of several clubs including the gardening club, which he led, as well as yoga, peer tutoring, and Model UN. Keep reading to find out his favorite class at Field.

Biochemistry
What grade level did you enter at Field?
10th
Why did you choose to attend The Field School?
I chose to go to Field because I knew that it would work with me every step of the way while also allowing me autonomy and control over my education—to tailor it to my interests.
What has been your favorite class at Field and why?
My favorite class was Advanced Biology II. I loved this class due to its mixture of structured and interesting labs as well as self-guided projects where I could explore my interests.
What sports/clubs did you take part in at Field?
What is your favorite memory from your time at Field?
My favorite memory from Field comes from the senior trip where I found peace and joy sitting by my friends on the dock and watching the sun set.
What will you miss most about Field?
In addition to missing my friends, I think I will miss the amazing teachers who were there whenever I needed them. They encouraged me to grow as a person and as a student.
What is your advice for future Field seniors?
Trust in the process that Field and the College Counseling Office have developed.
How did Field prepare you for your next chapter?
Field has made me a much better writer, researcher, and critical thinker. Beyond giving me lessons and facts to learn, Field has taught me how to learn in an independent manner.
