Happy Friday, Everyone! It’s almost the weekend – but first we are highlighting another faculty member. Meet Susan Vogel – our Director of Advancement. Susan and her team work hard to inspire engagement and philanthropy among our students, alums, families, and faculty. She also led the planning and execution of our annual Dare to Be Field event! Susan is a proud Maryland native and currently resides in Southern Maryland. Keep reading to find out the great piece of advice she has for her younger self.

 

 

Where did you grow up?

Southern Maryland (LaPlata) 

What is your alma mater?

High School: St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, MD) and College: Loyola College (Baltimore, MD and now known as Loyola University of Maryland)

What is your favorite book or podcast?

All the books I read to my children when they were young!

What is something that people at The Field School might not know about you?

My family has hosted students from 3 countries (China, England, and Turkey) when they came to the U.S. to study or play sports.

What hobbies do you have outside of Field?

Baking, watching college sports, spending time at the beach, and staying connected to friends near and far.

What is the first concert you ever attended?

Lionel Ritchie

Who inspires you and why?

My parents. They've been married nearly 60 years and truly model a lifetime of faith and love to their children, grandchildren, and those around them.

If you could share one piece of advice with your younger self, what would it be?

Ask more questions of your aunts, uncles, and grandparents - their stories are the ones I want my children to know.

What do you love most about working at The Field School?

The culture of Field is tremendous and allows our community to thrive in so many ways.
