It’s time for another Senior Spotlight!! Meet CJ. He’s heading to the University of Missouri (Mizzou) in the Fall to study journalism with a photojournalism focus. CJ is an incredibly talented photographer and says that Field helped nurture his passion for the subject area. Since arriving at Field, CJ has played several sports and led many of our clubs. Keep reading to find out how Field prepared him for his next chapter.
What major or subject area are you planning to pursue in college?
Journalism (photojournalism focus)
Why did you choose to attend The Field School?
I wanted a school where academics were not the only focus.
What grade level did you enter at Field?
9th
What has been your favorite class at Field and why?
My favorite class has been Photography. From the moment I got to Field, I knew it was a passion of mine. Being able to try darkroom photography has been one of the greatest moments of my life and one I am extremely thankful for. I fell in love with film photography immediately.
What sports/clubs did you take part in at Field?
What is your favorite memory from your time at Field?
Not one specific memory, but I am grateful for some of the bonds I have created through baseball.
What will you miss most about Field?
I will definitely miss the relationships I have with many of my teachers and members of the faculty here at Field. I feel comfortable approaching them for help with academics and enjoy joking around with many of them.
What is your advice for future Field seniors?
Take photography!
How did Field prepare you for your next chapter?
I am happy to say that I got into the program I ranked as my first choice, thanks to a combination of the photography and the writing skills I have learned here.
