Graduation is less than a week away! It feels bittersweet to say goodbye to our seniors but we are excited to continue highlighting our Class of 2024. Meet Erik. He’s heading to Penn State in the Fall to study meteorology with a focus in atmosphere sciences. During his time at Field, Erik has been very involved in tennis and photography. He says Field helped him come out of his comfort zone, particularly in his Senior year. Keep reading to find out his advice to other students.
Why did you choose to attend The Field School?
My sister graduated from here in 2013.
What grade level did you enter Field?
9th
What has been your favorite class at Field and why?
Photography (specifically my junior year). It was a very chill class and I got to do photography, which is something I love and I plan on pursuing throughout my life.
What sports/clubs did you take part in at Field?
What will you miss most about Field?
I have met many one-of-a-kind individuals, a few of whom have changed the course of my life. I will never forget those people.
What is your advice for future Field seniors?
Please do not miss this opportunity to socialize and make lifelong friends. Field is an extremely small school compared to other high schools, so it is much easier to make friends since we all sort of know each other. It may feel strange or "out of character" to hang out with and constantly be with friends, but the best kind of change is the kind that we aren't used to.
How did Field prepare you for your next chapter?
The best thing Field did to prepare me for the rest of my life is to shatter my comfort zone and the "character" that I played for my first three years here. I genuinely think I would be lost or miserable if I hadn't come here. It has been the most impactful and life- altering time of my life so far, potentially ever.
